Soil Yarn UNSPUN creates a fabric that is soft and light, but warm at the same time - it works very well for winter knits. The texture of the knitted fabric is remarkably plush and lofty - almost like a cloud.
UNSPUN is a pre-yarn/unspun yarn. This means the fiber has been carded but no twist has been added. Unspun yarns are much more delicate than spun yarns, and you may have to change how you tension your yarn and pay a little more attention while knitting to keep it from tearing. The good news though is that you can increase the durability of
the yarn by adding in additional strands. And if the yarn does break, you can very easily join it back together.

PLEASE NOTE: You can knit with this yarn however you like - held single, held double or with a strand of another fiber (such as mohair or alpaca). Holding the yarn double or with a strand of mohair will greatly increase the durability of the yarn as well
as the ease of the knitting experience.

Soil Yarn have sourced these fibers directly from their mill in Bavaria and it is a mix of
wool from domestic breeds, as well as a small percentage of wool from Swedish Gotland
    sheep.
Each batch of UNSPUN has a slightly different fiber mix but they will always contain a mix of domestic wool and a small percentage of Gotland, which is required to strengthen the fibers and to use German wool to create this unspun variety.
