In the early 1990s, Liberty achieved a significant milestone with the establishment of its Japan office and design studio in Tokyo, forging a poignant link to its past. To commemorate this enduring connection, an artwork was chosen from the archive, shaped by a long-standing admiration for Asian-inspired decorative art and design. Richly rendered in deep, inky hues, Heritage Garden features hidden fruits amongst beautifully stylised chrysanthemums, peonies, and, of course, Japanese blossom flowers. This print is part of the anniversary collection’s final chapter, Collectibles. Offering a design for each decade, this timeline of hero prints encapsulates 150 years - exploring the design house’s varied and influential handwriting while honouring key moments of creativity and discovery.
