TN34 -Sewing Pattern - Merchant & Mills

TN34 is a relaxed and versatile interpretation of the classic fishtail parka. Lined or unlined with a hood or ribbing, it can work for all seasons.

Size XS - XXXL

All seam allowances are 1.5cm unless otherwise stated.

Skill level - advanced.

Fabric suggestions - Dry Oilskin, Oilskin (lined version only), tweed, woollens, cotton drill, cotton canvas, waterproofed cotton and linens.

For the lining, a barrier lining is recommended if you are making the oilskin version. Other lining options: brushed cotton, cotton poplin. The lining choice has to be substantial enough to accommodate buttonholes - this garment was designed for oilskin so the lining prevents oilskin touching the clothing.

For the ribbing neckline, a rib that stretches by half again, ie, a 10cm piece stretches to 15cm, has been used.
