Soie d'Alger is a 7-strand spun silk with a moderate lustre and a smooth, soft finish. It is made of the best quality spun silk (called strusas) which gives it an unrivalled regularity, lustrous and softness.
Perfect for cross stitch, counted thread work, needlepoint, embroidery, hardanger, lace making, blackwork, ribbon embroidery, stumpwork.

With 6 skeins of finely graduated colours.

Each skein is 5m and can be spilt giving you up to 35m of workable thread 

Au Ver à Soie - "the silkworm" have made the finest spun silk threads in Paris for hand embroidery since 1820.  The threads are used by French couture house including Chanel, Dior, Jean-Paul Gaultier, and are used in the hand-sewn scarves of Hermès.
