Needle punch is a form of embroidery that is related to rug hooking, the technique has been around for hundreds of years.
Instead of stitching through the fabric, the punch needle pushes the thread into the fabric, while the needle stays on the surface of the fabric. The result is a highly textured design made of loops that show the connection to rug making. It is a great technique for making wall hangings and can used to make rugs, toys, brooches, cushion covers and more.
