Transport yourself to the south of France as you recreate a section of Van Gogh’s vibrant Sunflowers in cross stitch.
The vibrant yellows of this piece look stunning when stitched in the Mouliné Spécial thread included. This complete bookmark kit has been developed in collaboration with The National Gallery where you can view one of Van Gogh’s Sunflowers paintings. He painted five different versions of Sunflowers to decorate his house in Arles in readiness for a visit from his friend and fellow artist, Paul Gauguin. They were among the first paintings Van Gogh produced that show his signature expressive style.
Dutch Post-Impressionist painter Van Gogh has become one of the most famous and influential figures in Western art history. His landscapes, still lifes, portraits and self-portraits are characterised by bold colours and dramatic, impulsive and expressive brushwork.
The National Gallery, London houses one of the greatest collections of paintings in the world. Its collection boasts 2,300 works including many famous paintings such as van Eyck’s Arnolfini Portrait, Velázquez’s Rokeby Venus, Turner’s Fighting Temeraire and Van Gogh’s Sunflowers. All major traditions of Western European painting are represented from the artists of late medieval and Renaissance Italy to the French Impressionists.
The kit includes thread, fabric and all the accessories you will need as well as full instructions. You can also look at the step-by-step diagrams and video tutorials for all the stitches on our website.
