The new Filcolana base ‘Mashdale’ is a rustic-looking but deliciously soft woolen spun yarn blend with 25% Masham wool and 75 % Corriedale wool, spun in the UK.

Masham sheep are mostly brown, whereas Corriedale sheep are a natural white, and by leaving the brown Masham wool undyed and colouring only the Corriedale wool, the yarn develops a wonderfully nuanced play of colour and depth.

Masham wool is strong yet gentle to the touch, offering a balance of resilience and softness that makes it a versatile choice for textured knits, cosy accessories, and rustic-inspired home projects.
