4-layer Merinowool Mittens, Fager Iselin - Öjbro Vantfabrik

These are the super warm and cozy 4-layer Merinowool Mittens in pattern Fager Iselin, from the Swedish company Öjbro Vantfabrik. This design is inspired by all the women who have embellished their mittens with stylized flower patterns. Here they have incorporated the fair lily and then coloured in traditional colours. At Öjbro they’ve made it their goal to keep various knitting traditions alive.

The 4-layer mitten consists of an outer mitten in merino wool and three inner liners, resulting in four layers. Each layer has its function and provides optimal warmth by trapping air between the layers, creating an insulating effect. The trapped air warms the mitten and makes it wind-resistant, while also allowing the hand to breathe.

The patterns on the mittens are primarily designed for aesthetics, but they are also knitted with woolen threads, which means that the more detailed patterns provide extra warmth compared to the simpler variants.
