Visible Mending Workshop
Visible repair is more than just a practical solution for a hole in a garment: it's a creative expression and an act of sustainability. In this workshop, you will learn the techniques you need to give both knitwear and woven garments a new lease of life.
For this workshop, we ask you to bring a piece of garment that needs to be fixed. This can be a sweater, a pair of jeans or socks with a hole.
This workshop will teach you
During this workshop, you will learn which tools and materials you need. You first learn a basic mending technique. You can then work with a sweater, socks, or jeans to transform a hole, wear, or stain into a real eye-catcher.
Skills you will learn:
• Japanese repair techniques for woven clothing (Boro and Sashiko).
• Basic darning and weaving techniques for knitwear.
• use of materials and colors.
• Inspiration to continue on your own.
